Fapomed, a leading manufacturer of medical devices, has strengthened its presence in Portugal with the expansion of its facilities in Vila do Conde. The project, awarded to Garcia Garcia, was developed under a Design & Build model and reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability.

The new facility covers an area of 7,500 m² and includes production zones, storage areas, and laboratories, with a focus on the implementation of advanced technological solutions and high energy efficiency. The building, constructed with precast concrete, was designed with an emphasis on industrial functionality while simultaneously ensuring operational and environmental comfort.

One of the main challenges of the project was maintaining the plant’s industrial activity during the expansion works. The infrastructure also includes technical solutions aimed at safety and environmental protection, such as an air quality control system, cleanrooms with controlled climate, and a modern industrial waste treatment station.
