4 GENERATIONS - ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
The connection between the Garcia family and building dates back to the late 19th century, with the construction of chimneys for textile industry factories. These chimneys were a vital element and their aim was to exhaust the smoke and gases generated by combustion from the boilers that supplied power (steam) for the industry.
The Garcia family was responsible for the construction of most of these structures in our region. Today, these constructions are part of our classified heritage and subject to preservation orders from local authorities, constituting a distinctive landmark of the Vale do Ave.
From the 1960s, under the guidance of the third generation, based on its accumulated knowledge of the textile industry and taking advantage of the boom of this sector, the company diversified its business and invested in the construction of integrated industrial facilities.
In the 1990s, with the 4th generation of the Garcia family at the helm, a new stage in the company’s life began. Maintaining a focus on our core business, the company invested in design and started to develop “A to Z” projects for companies in all sectors, taking on major projects for Portuguese and multinational companies.
In 2004, the fourth generation of the Garcia family became responsible for the company’s destiny. Despite maintaining the company’s century-old course and the work carried out over time, the new management brought a new dynamism and started a new era in the life of Garcia, Garcia.
With a capacity for continuous investments in terms of design and the development of production techniques, equipment and human resources, Garcia, Garcia is a modern and competitive organization, a reference in the sector, and was recognised in 2016 as the Best Builder in the Construir Awards.
Garcia, Garcia is a company specialising in the Design & Build of industrial, logistic, commercial and residential buildings. It offers a comprehensive service that, depending on needs, can range from location choice to construction, also involving design, guaranteeing a final result that is on spec, on time, on budget and state of the art.

As a result of our positioning and growth, Garcia, Garcia has gradually increased its number of employees, in contrast with most of the sector. As a result, the Garcia group now has 252 employees, all highly qualified and prepared to respond to any challenge that we may face.

The QAS Integrated Management System is based on the requirements of standards NP EN ISO 9001:2015, NP EN ISO 14001:2015 and NP EN ISO 45001:2018.
